Rogers today announced the addition of two new Long Term Evolution (LTE) devices, the Sierra Wireless AirCard model of the LTE Rocket stick and the Sierra Wireless AirCard LTE Rocket mobile hotspot. Both of these support connectivity on the 1700, 2100 and 2600 MHz spectrums of their LTE network allowing download speeds of up to 40 Mbps. Flex rate plans for the LTE Rocket stick and hotspot start at $22.93 per month, while tablets can connect to the LTE network for as little as $7.93 per month. Rogers was the first to launch its LTE network in Ottawa last July, it was later launched in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver in September, and is expected to expand 25 additional cities by the end of the year. With this continued expansion will likely come more LTE devices, Rogers has already announced the Samsung Galaxy Note. The network will no doubt be ready for primetime by the time the new iPhone which is expected to be contain a LTE radio, when it is released later this year.
