Flashback Trojan removal tool now available for Mac computers

If you have a Mac computer then you might want to check the Software Update tool (click on the Apple logo on the top left hand corner of your screen) for a Java security patch. This update removes the most common variants of the Flashback malware and configures the Java web plug-in to disable the automatic execution of Java applets.  Apple has reported that the malware has infected more than 650,000 Mac computers running the OS X operating system.  Dr. Web, a Russian antivirus software maker, estimated that 20% of the infected computers were in Canada.  Many security experts criticized Apple for its slow response as the virus has been known about for months.  Security patches were made available for systems running Windows, Linus and Unix since February.  For details about this update see: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5242
