Raspberry Pi Computer Starts Shipping

Well after a few false starts, the distributors for the Raspberry Pi Computer have finally started to ship to the lucky ones who preordered the units back in February.  The $35 credit card sized computer has an ARM based processor that runs Linux; it is capable of running many of the same programs that a regular computer can run as well as playing HD video.  The model that is presently available has two USB 2.0 ports, that will allow the hookup of a keyboard and mouse and you can access your network through an ethernet connection.  There is presently a backlog in orders but the distributors are promising new shipments on a regular basis to fill the big demand.  You can register with either Allied Electronics or Element 14 to receive updates on availability or to preorder your very own micro computer.
