Flashback Trojan Virus (update)

I reported last week that Apple issued a security update to combat the Flashback Trojan virus. At the time it was thought that up to 650,000 Macs were infected. Now about a week later Symantec, a firm that provides it’s own Trojan removal tool, estimated that there are still 140,000 550,000 units infected (recent reports indicated that initial estimates were low). The reason for this large number is not known but it could be the unfamiliarity of Apple users with viruses. As the number of Macs increases though it is expected that viruses targeted specifically at them will also increase. PC users on the other hand are all too familiar with security updates that are provided to them almost on a weekly basis. If you have a Mac and have not done so already you should get the latest update for the OS, see the previous post for instructions on how to update your Mac.
