One of the really great things about Blackberry 10 and the BlackBerry PlayBook is their ability to run Android apps, giving them access to significantly more apps than they would have from their own ecosystem. While this is an advantage many lament that it is still running the 2 year old Gingerbread version of the OS. It was officially announced at the BlackBerry Jam event in Europe today though that there are plans to update this capability so that they will support Jelly Bean. Android 4.1. This of course is good news to users of the BB10 but as well to the developers of Android apps who will have access to the BlackBerry World.
