Well it looks like Android isn’t the only OS that is fragmented as Apple today released version 6.1.1 for the iPhone 4S. The update is supposed to fix “cellular performance and reliability” issues that are particularly a problem with these 3G devices. This could be in response to the recent statement from European carrier Vodafone that warned its customers from updating to version 6.1. Apparently the update released on January 28 was causing problems in connecting to the Internet and in making calls. There was no mention of improvements to battery life which is another common complaint from version 6.1 users. The next update, version 6.2, will likely be a more substantial upgrade with improved mapping data for Japan.
