Windows 7 no longer available after October 2014

If you prefer the touchless stylings of Windows 7 over the touchee feeleeness of Windows 8 you better get a new computer before Halloween. Paul Thurrott of the Windows Supersite has reported today that Microsoft will no longer make Windows 7 available to PC makers for preinstalls after October 31, 2014. This news comes on the heels of the announcement that Windows XP will no longer be updated after April 8. It sure sounds like Microsoft is trying to encourage people to get onboard the Windows 8 bandwagon whether they like it or not.
